Beautiful manor in an idyllic, quiet and relaxing setting. Ideally located for visiting the area. Spacious and well-equipped accommodation. Large pool and tennis court in the middle of a very nice park. The owners are friendly and available. We had a great family holiday.

ABOUT

Le Suquet, an 18th century farming estate, has been lovingly transformed by Stephanie and Skip Vogelius Bowman into an authentic countryside retreat that celebrates rustic charm and a healthy lifestyle.

This is your place to relax, explore the Dordogne, and discover the historic Bastide towns. Savor wines from the Bergerac appellation, cycle through scenic roads and trails, and enjoy the sunny but pleasantly warm summers. Rolling fields rich with crops, quaint villages, ancient church towers, delicate streams, and powerful rivers await at every turn, alongside pilgrim routes and remnants of battles that once shaped empires.

The Dordogne is the third most popular destination in France, right after the Côte d'Azur and Paris. Don’t miss this unique region, where the food and lifestyle of the South West are celebrated with a proud heritage.

Just a 6-minute drive away, you’ll find Issigeac, home to one of the prettiest weekend markets in France. Pick up your lunch from a bounty of local produce, then return to Le Suquet to enjoy a quintessential French afternoon — a long lunch, a glass or two of white wine, and a peaceful siesta.

For those who love to stay active, we recommend road and mountain biking, canoeing, hiking, and sampling the local cafés. You can even combine these into a week of adventure under the watchful eye of Saint Jacques, the patron saint of pilgrims.

We can also suggest many delightful excursions, from castles, churches, and fortified towns to breathtaking gardens. Just let us know your interests before you arrive, and we’ll be glad to offer tailored itineraries, recommended restaurants, tours, and activities to make your stay unforgettable.
