About 40 minutes drive through the sweet hills of the Monbazillac and Saussignac, home to the most wonderful sweet wines, is the Château des Vigiers country club and 27 hole golf course.
The three 9-hole courses are lovely, though I think the Vines course is the best. It's obviously older and the views of the estate and surrounds are best. Not to mention some delightfully designed holes around the trees. It's a course that offers plenty of challenge but novices can get around without losing too many balls.
But the final hole is a boomerang rather than a dog leg, but it reveals one of my favourite golf views back to the Chateau and club house. WOW!
